Hi there everybody. I've ben having some problems with the installation of vista on my aspire one 150. It's really difficult to tell what's happening, but the constant is that the os hangs. When it does, there is a weird sound, i think it might be the hdd. So, the os hangs and i can't do anything. I was thinking it could be related to the drivers, cause they aren't the latest ones. Do you have any idea??? Please help me if you can.

If it hangs during the installation of Vista then it cant be outdated drivers as every Vista dvd is the same, right?

if you upgraded the memory I would suggest you could unplug the additional memory and re-add it after the installation.

also worth a shot could be booting from ext floppy/usb and fdisk/format the partition prior to running the install.

PS unplug all ext devices that are not NEEDED for the installation prior to trying again.

So, now i know what the problem was. My hd has an error, and it's a hardware, not software problem.
