    Hi all,

I bought a AA1 a couple of days ago and i'm having major issue installing VLC. Why is this so difficult? I have tried following all the guides on this forum but with no joy. i constantly get:-

Error: Missing Dependency: libpulse.so.0(PULSE_0) is need by package vlc
Error: Missing Dependency: libopendapp.so.0 is need by package vlc
Error: Missing Dependency: libnav.so.4 is need by package vlc

I downloaded and installed these files but when i try to install vlc again it says:-

Error: Missing Dependency: libdvdread.so.4 is need by package vlc

So i downloaded and installed this file and tried installing vlc again. It then says:-

Error: Missing Dependency: librdvdead.so.3 is need by package vlc

So i removed libdvdread.so.4, installed libdvdread.so.3 and tried to install vlc again, it then tells me it needs libdvdread.so.4. So i then updated to libread.so.4, it then tells me it needs libdvdread.so.3 and so it loops!

ARGGHH!!!!! Going mad, i simplytwant to install an app!

Can someone please help before i go completely insane!

    Thanks in advance,

    Nick

    just a suggestion.

Try uninstalling the old repositories, then install the new repositories.

That's linux for you. It doesn't tell you what is wrong.

    That was my $0.02.

I'm new to linux as well, so I don't know the commands to uninstall yet.

I had this problem, as well. Doing a quick search through the forums lead me through this thread though

    viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3228#p21648

When you have problems with linux, this forum is probably the best place to get help for any problems you'll run into, because chances are at least someone else will be having some sort of problem, too.
