Recently I tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate on my AOA150 - 1,5Gb RAM - Intel 3945abg WLAN Card - 120 GB HDD.
The installation crashed several times before it was finished.
I checked the RAM with the Win7 tool and Memtest - no errors.

    Funny thing is:
After removing the 1 GB Ram and the WLAN Card I was able to install W7U.
No crashes even with several boots.
I finished the Installation and reinstalled RAM and WLAN Card.

    After that W7U kept crashing.

Can you tell me, why my A150 isnt able to handle W7U with RAM and WLAN?
Everything is working fine with Server 2003 Enterprise.

    Hi there,

Have you tried it with either just the RAM of the WLAN installed?
That way you can see which one of them is causing your problems.

It'll either be the RAM is of the wrong sort for the netbook (did you have it running win xp with 1.5Gig?) or it'll be an incompatible driver issue or the likes with the WLAN card.

No I only tried with both devices.
RAM: It is working properly with server 2003, I don't have XP.
WLAN: It is a rather common card, working perfectly with Server 2003.

    Hey,

I would try with each individual and see if you can pin point the problem.
If the RAM is working in 2003 then chances are it is a driver problem with the WLAN card.

As for how, take the WLAN card out and leave the RAM in and see if it boots. If it doesn't, put the WLAN card back in and take the RAM out and try it.

It may be a very common card, but if there are drivers for Windows 2003 then it is probably quite an old card and there might not be drivers for Windows 7.

What make and model of WLAN card is it? Do you definitely have the drivers for it?

Windows 7 had the drivers built-in...
    There was no driver installation.

Windows XP drivers are working with server 2003 too
