I've installed Skype on my Aspire One with linux OS. It works great. How can I get it to launch at startup?
    Thanks,

There's a search box at the top right of every forum page. Put 'skype startup' in that box, and you'll find a topic on autostarting skype which will tell you what to do.

    Thank you
I did alt F2 and got to autostart applications, then hit "+Add" and a dialog box comes up asking for the name, description and a command. The name and description are easy enough but what should I put in the command box?

When I enter that command I get:

    bash: 1n; command not found

I thought maybe I was using a 1, (one') rather than a l, (the letter,) but I tried it both ways and got the same response. Would it work going through the xfce-autostart-editor sequence and putting in a command there?

    Thanks,
    GVO

    It's not digit 1 - it's letter l for link...

There's no way you should get a command not found response to ln (it is small letter l, small letter n, both case sensitive) unless you've really seriously damaged your system - it's a pretty fundamental part of the operating system.

Check that you have it exactly right - better still, click on the 'SELECT ALL' at the top of the code box in that post, copy the whole lot using CTRL-C, then paste it straight into a terminal using ALT-V.

You could try using the autostart editor; I think the command you want is /usr/bin/skype .
