Samem here - also he has a solution for backing up hard disk Aspires, where you can back up either the OS or the data or both.

Acronis (eBay sellers do the older versions, I have v10) for about £10 ($15). If you install it on a Windows PC there is an option to create a bootable media - I use a 16Gb USB stick - boot from that on your AAO and do a full backup onto the USB stick. Store it somewhere SAFE !!!!
When you stuff the config etc, boot from the USB stick and choose 'restore'.
Once you have created the bootable media, you can safely uninstall it from the Windows computer if you are only going to be doing full/incremental system backups.

    Hi,

One question, using the http://aaobackup.blogspot.com. Backup method.

Once I have created the full backed up of the AAO system running linpus Linux on my 8GB USB drive, do I have to then reboot the AAO and re choose the option for it to boot normally or will it just subsequently look to the USB drive first see nothing then boot? I am still very new to Linux.

If you don't rearrange the boot order in the BIOS, but use F12 to boot the external flash key to make backups or to restore, then when the flash key is not in the computer, it will boot as normal. In fact, if the key is attached, and you don't hit F12 to choose to boot from it, the computer will boot directly into your Linpus system.

    Cheers.

    Hi rbil,

Thanks for this confirmation, :) it is because I use flash keys regularly that I asked.
