**WARNING** !I BLEW MY BABY! Visiting this forum I got very enthousiastic what you can do with this beautiful machine. (Love tnqgrl with her video!)
First I installed FanControl AA1, because the fan makes a lot of noise (I'm not allowed to have my own notebook at my work-what's that sound?).
Then I discovered Windows 7, works perfectly on this machine, nice! And I installed FanControl AA! again....
Next day the machine didn't start, no bios, no light. Later I remembered I hadn't heard the fan anymore at all.
Acer (Germany) repair report says: "Performed crisis and bios update, replaced thermal module, tested ok".
I didn't have to pay! Seems AA1 FanControl and Windows 7 don't work together.
So be carefull combining things that are not fully tested together. Good Luck!

One time my fan wasn't running and it actually caused my hard drive to record a permanent "failure" in its internal Smart logs.

A1CTL works on Windows 7, no problems at all!

If you've been more enthusiastic, you would've found out that bios crash is common on AAO.
