I sent my AAO 150 to a Service Center 1 month ago because of black screen bios error, they changed the mobo and returned it, all works great now, btw. But i checked and they didn't update my bios. I have v 0.3114, i think its the oldest one. :?

So, i want to upgrade it to the lastest one, but i was wondering; if i touch the bios, i void the Acer's warranty? I dont want it. :|

No. You can update BIOS your self. It's not voiding the warranty. BIOS can be downloaded from their web site. Flash utility is included into ZIP file...

actually, with the tech person from the acer service center itself, he told me that the flushing the bios would void the warranty. they are the one that must do that if needed...

actually, the tech person does not have a clue of what he's talking about.
flashing the BIOS needs to be done as new bios generally resolve issues, and improve the customer's experience of the product.
can you imagine a couple million people flocking to Acer (or sending the machines in) whenever there is a new BIOS?

the "tech" guy should change job..

Flashing the BIOS shouldnot void your warranty. If you feel it necessary and you have to return your machine in the future again, simply make a back up of the BIOS and reflash to the old version before you send it in.

you dont do backups of the firmware.
you download the older version and you keep it safe on some media.

Anyone have the Acer link for official BIOS updates? I looked on their website but couldn't find any updates for the Aspire One.
