    Hi,

    Can anyone help with advice on the problem I have with my webcam?

    For some reason, my webcam has stopped working and when I try to use it with Messenger or Skype or the 'Webcaam' program, the AAO crashes and I have to force a power down.

    The webcam details in dmesg don't look incorrect:

    Linux video capture interface: v2.00
    uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Acer Crystal Eye webcam (064e:d101)
    input: Acer Crystal Eye webcam as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb1/1-5/1-5:1.0/input/input7
    usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo
    USB Video Class driver (SVN r215)
    SAMSoft library init ...
    ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1b.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
    PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1b.0 to 64

    I know the hardware is OK as I took the AAO back to the original Acer desktop and it worked fine.

    I have changed the kernel to allow a TV usb stick to work, so maybe that's where it failed. It's not something I use a lot, so I don't know what caused it to fail.

    Can anyone help?

    Ken...
