weird looking panels on screen just won't go away

    Help - I have the linux system which I hate - loath even- just can't get on with it - anyway I have these 3 weird New Item panels that siton my screen all the flipping time - They have arrived after I looked in help re the panel they are large grey with a multipoint star that if you press do nothing but it says (new Item this item has not yet been configured - no idea what to do with them and how to get rid - have posted a screenshot

    any help suggestions most welcome.
