    Hi There,

Can someone say something about the performance of the A0150 running OSX?
I only now that the atom processor its not that powerfull but that doesnt means nothing to me...
Can I watch divx movies while downloading something from the internet?
Can make some video editions using iMovie (without waiting toons of minutes)?

    Tks all,
    Arlon.

Runs about comparable to a Mac Mini, but I only really use mine for web browsing/iTunes

I have to say I am very impressed with the performace of OS X on my AAO 150.

Once you get all the hardware working properly, it does fly for a little machine. Everyone I have shown it to has been impressed with the "snapiness".
I would agree with the other poster - comparable to a Mac mini

Been running OS X on my A110 with the SSD swapped for a HDD for about 9 months now. It is great. Only qualm is the resolution but it can be fixed with artguiscale kinda.
Speed is great, but imovie, I would leave that to a proper desktop.

    Thank you rory!!!

I've been looking for something to allow me to see all bottom part of some windows. Did try window wrangler - but it didn't resize anything with a green minimize/maximize button.

I'll try this out when I get home from work.

Actually my intention is to find out what the machine + OSX can or cannot do.
I would love to use iMovie but this is not a must for me.

    Tks rory.
    Thanks everyone.

For me it runs smoothly, VERY smooth compared with Linux (Ubuntu).

For example, i can watch a youtube video with no problem on osx86, but with ubuntu is a pain, its laggy and sounds is laggy too.

    Re: SSD v HD

I know it's possible to replace the ssd with an hd so I had been thinking if I have to open the machine to do some tinkering I might as well do it at the same time as I put increased memory into the AAO.
Will the new HD make the machine any faster than it would run with an SSD?

However, I have a query relating to increasing memory. It's now possible to get 16Gb SD cards for around 30€ so would just shoving a 16Gb SD card in the left hand SD slot do the same as putting extra memory on top of the installed 512Kb or does it just increase the SSD memory ie the present 8Gb becomes 24Gb?

    tks

there is a difference between hard drive space and RAM memory. having more RAM memory will make the machine use less access on the hard drive since it wont need to cache more information back and forth on the drive. since RAM memory has faster access compared to getting the information at the drive, you'll see a performance jump with bigger RAM.

In that case if I decide to open the AAO I'll install a Toshiba 1.8" hard drive at the same time instead of the 8Gb SSD.
Is there a maximum size for the SD slot on the left hand side of the AAO? I was thinking of getting one until I decide to ugrade ram and install a hard disk?

hmm, I don't use the SD expansion slot on my computer, it came with a 160gb sata drive. i didnt' like the SSD when i first saw the AAO. So i didnt buy it. from what i'm guessing, most SD cards are partitioned as FAT, so the maximum space is about 32gb, that's if sd cards come that big.

the cheapest 16 Gb SD card I have seen so far is about 30€ but there's no point spending that if I have decided to follow Tankgurl and open it up to install the extra memory and an hd in place of the SSD.

Anyone in Europe found a decent source for a 1'8" Pata HD suitable for the AAO?
