I want to free up space, but being a computer illiterate I don't want to accidentally delete anything that I may need and that can lead to a messed up system. Please let me know what I should be deleting?

Hi, I just wanted to mention that if you intend to uninstall McAfee anti-virus and replace it with Avast or AVG or whatever then I suggest you read the following first.

McAfee: How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe)
    http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

And I got rid of Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader and replaced it with FoxIt PDF Reader (small) @

Also include the MS Office and Works. You can replace those with the free Open Office. Keep the MS database package.

As mentioned above, Avast and Foxit are better.

Actually, I used PC Decrapifier @

It was about 6 months ago so I don't remember the specifics but all went well. I have had no problems since.

    I use Avast anti-virus as well @

I bought this Acer Aspire One in December 08 and it is my first ever computer (I am not young)

Ok, I want skype. Would I ble able to delete the webcam thingy, or would that delete my webcam completely, in order to replace it with Skype? Also, what is "GoToMeeting", and can I uninstall that as well?

You don't need to touch the WebCam, just install Skype. Skype just uses the WebCam stuff that is already on your computer.
When you launch Skype, in the Menu, you can check and adjust your look and microphone and speakers.
If my memory serves me well, the first time you launch Skype it will suggest you adjust these settings for best performance, if you say yes than one click will take you there :)
My speakers are horrid, I use earbuds.

I don't know GoToMeeting at all but a quick search found this 'conferencing' software @
    https://www1.gotomeeting.com/?Portal=ww ... eeting.com

I guess it's a Windows XP Professional thing (I don't have XP Professional)
Best you search the forums about this one, it's probably ok to just uninstall it but it may have it's hooks into something else, somewhere.

Good luck and have fun :)

Thank you very much. I actually think I installed GoToMeeting when I had this conference thing a couple of weeks ago, but totally forgot.
