I installed XP professional SP3 (D2D disabled and Fat32 formatted) and all the drivers, open office, firefox3 and one care 2.0. I also upgraded to 1,5GB of RAM.

I push the power button, after 40 seconds I can hear the windows sound, few seconds later I can see the desktop, another few seconds later all icons show in the taskbar, so I would say about 1 minute.

    BUT

the system responds very slow, it's really unusable and the SSD LED is flashing all the time. It takes 3 more minutes until I can start working, so the whole booting process takes about 4 minutes!
    After that everything works fine.

What's your experience? I didn't nlite XP, is that the problem?

I'd point my finger more at the One Care thing being the majority of your problems... I didn't trim much from my xp install with nLite...
My boot time seems to be from 35 to 40 seconds, and then I can begin using it.

hmm... a thought there... are you hooked up to a wired network? I know that if the computer is set up for dhcp lan/wan and is not hooked to anything it will take a minute or two more to determine that there is actually nothing out there to talk to it and it will therefore make up its own ip address...
but then again that could be the stupidest assumption.. considering that you are online & posting on this forum >_<

    Defragmenting a SSD is useless.
