    I too removed trial software, games, McAffee, etc., though I don't see how that would affect system performance as none of those were starting up at boot (except mcaffee, which was promptly removed)

    I had disabled all of the "eye-candy", set my theme to Windows classis/basic, and done just about all I could to optimize for performance and it still ran pretty bad. My biggest complaint by far was boot-up time. If I let the thing sit for 5-10 minutes, it would be OK, but would quickly bog down with multiple windows & tabs open.

    I timed my 751 with 7 and it takes almost exactly 60 seconds from the time I push the power button until the HD is DONE booting up, COMPLETELY, and the machine is 100% ready to use, even connected to the internet if there is a connection available.

    I just don't want to put down my 751, it runs so darn well with 7!
