Hi everyone just want to know if you have any suggestions on what to give to my husband this Valentines day. I want it to be memorable since this is our first Valentines day as a married couple.

You set the pace and gift for your Valentine. Make it your Valentine gift to remember. You alone know your husband and what the two of you like. Valentines is a special day that is original for each couple is original. You'll come up with something to always remember.

I have never given or received valentine gifts, because it's something I have never believed in (the origin of this celebration is based in pure materialism), but since it's so important for my current partner... I guess next year I will get something nice for him. Maybe a new shirt? I hope he gets me some flowers.

I agree, they have blown this out of proportion for marketing purposes! Valentine used to mean something totally different for me but over the years, it is more materialism than anything else.

@IcyBC Right on! This celebration has morphed into a celebration totally focused on exaggerated consumerism. It's so sad, but most people I know have fallen for trip trap :( Lol, even I! I have to celebrate it because my partner's family do that. So I have at least get something for him, even small and go out for dinner.
