If you've enabled the advanced menu, you can easily install Audacity through the Add/Remove Software panel in the System section.

youll need the lame encoder .dll for mp3 files...

check the audacity website, theres a decent tutorial on there.

    Hy every one

i already understand how to install audacity, that i can install via Yum, just like that and everythng ok

but after installing that, a new problem occured, when i recording using the build in mike or using plug in mike, and when i play back the sound, the sound did not very good, there are some cik cik cik sound in my record. i move the file to another computer and the sound still there

can it be the hardware problem??

is there any other programe that i can use to record / test my mic??

i really need to use this AA1 as my simple sound record device via mic

    any one have suggestion??

    thanks alot!!

I'm also hoping to use my AA1 to record some sounds (interviews). The quality is not very important but of course I wouldn't want that click sounds (I remember another very old IBM laptop recording some sounds from the CPU, maybe it's the same thing).

At the moment I'm at the process of installing Audacity, although i know a much simpler application could do this. Any ideas there?

And please let me know -thru this thread- what solutions you find.
    I'll let know mine.

    Cheers.

    I run on linpus linux.
I managed to install Audacity through package manager and it works quite ok except for:

1- It records this noise, a chirping sound, and it is not from the processor I think, because it only makes it when there is sound input, not when there is silence, which also makes it very hard to remove using filters.

2- The playback is fast. In fact, it feels more like it is recording it slowly so when I record my voice it becomes a kids voice on playback or export. This is a serious problem and this has happened with all settings on the default on the first run. I know it is possible to slow down the playback but on export (save as mp3) it is still fast. I solved it by applying a playback speed filter but on the long run this will be time and energy consuming.

I would appreciate any solutions or ideas regarding these issues as well as any other sound recording tools you have used on linpus linux.

    Cheers
