    Hey guys,

I just ordered my Aspire one (120gb, XP) but I'm wondering where/how you guys are getting windows 7. I would love to install it on my machine rather than having XP. Is there somewhere I can dload it and is there a guide to installing it on the one?

    Thanks,

I dont recommend it for normal use, the new taskbar is still very buggy and on some normal load of work it not work very well, rather install Vista [right now the build 6801 is just like vista, very very equal, but with Bugs, and so much software doesnt work].
    Look around on torrent sites.

Go to any computer shop, f.e. PCWorld and buy legal copy... Do not even try to ask for link to illegal software...

Calm down dude, Mr. Mopeto recommended I look on torrent sites so I thought there might be a light version made specifically for Netbooks. I never said I wanted it illegaly or that I didn't want to pay for it. I'm simply wondering if there's a place online where I can download it (LEGALLY) since the machine doesn't have a cd rom drive. Don't even TRY to accuse me of asking for a free copy. Please don't contribute to this thread if you're just gonna be a wise ass and not help. Thanks.

    Correct.
However, you will need an optical drive to install with.
If you want to know how to make a USB key bootable to install Vista with, look here:

Do note that even with this, you will still need an optical drive to get the files off of the Vista installation DVD.

If they have Win7 they are betatesters or they obtained illegal copy . Win7 does not exist yet on the market...

I told you: go to the shop and buy a copy. Every logically thinking person suppose to do that... To be honest I do not understand your question - M$ software is not free.

Every light version is created from full OS copy by software like nLite. Still you have to buy legal CD/Product Key...

I'm not. I'm answering your questions...

Do you suggest I have no rights to share my opinion??

OK, that's what I was wondering. How do you become a betatester?

"Do not even try to ask for link to illegal software..." is NOT an opinion. It's an accusation that I don't appreciate.

I don't know. Maybe write a letter to M$... There is closed group of testers every time M$ is about to release new OS. They are mostly programmers, advanced users etc... In that way M$ is collecting info about OS usability, bugs etc...

Stop being child. If you think someone is stupid on this forum then sorry of you - change the playground. By the way - it's not "accusation" it's warning - based on Forum rules... EOT.

no need for this stupid argument.
and i thought it was linux users who were petty :p
windows 7 is on torrents, as is windows vista
both can be sued illegally or legally.
windows 7 beta is closed an private. so its illegal unless u use a legal product key :p or is it
anyway, only to pdc people, very high development partners and possiblly technet subscribers.
