I just gave in and rather than wait for play.com to deliver, I went up to PC World at cribs causeway in bristol and spent £250 to pick one up, which is £50 more than if I just waited a week, but I'm impatient and just got paid so....
anyway, they have one A1 on display (next to the EEEs) and when I asked they went and got one out of the store room for me, not sure how many left.
So now I'm typing this on my new A1 :) Only took me 20mins before I took it apart and added some RAM, FF3 is installed and I'm thinking about adding ubuntu later this afternoon...

PC World in Portsmouth price matched £219.99 from an online reseller - just make sure you take along a same-day printout showing a supplier that has stock at the lower price and ask :D

It seems that stock levels at the PC World stores are a bit hit-and-miss: my local store (Chichester) had one on show, but no stock. Portsmouth had none on show, but 5 in the warehouse so it may be worth ringing before making a special trip! The staff at Portsmouth also knew nothing about the Acer One and then had 'fun' actually finding their stock on the computer - in the end someone rang Chichester for the stock code!

Where can the 1GB XP 120GBHDD model be bought in USA? It says play.com is the only one that has it, but it links me to the 512mb 8GBSSD model.

play.com in the UK is completely out of stock, apart from the 512MB, 8GB SSD, linux, white AA1. ~£230

    cribs causeway eh?

i live in cirencester, its about a 45-50 minute drive away, might give them a ring and see if they have any on show, i really need to see one and hold one before i buy it on the internet.

    Hey

The aspire one just launched in india today.. IT is available on all "croma outlets".. Although I am yet to go and check the one out myself (will be doing that tomo i guess).. Dunno much about the price. but the acer india website lists only the 120gb xp version for sale in india... Thats the one i will be going for ... So excited right now... lets hope they dun make the price a fortune here... would beat the whole point of buying a netbook and not going for a 12inch dual core..

Guys in india keep me updated

Does a blue 1280GB Linux 512MB one even exist in the UK?! I've had one preordered for ages with Amazon, but the release keeps getting pushed back, nowhere else seems to have any in stock either. :( Grrr I want one now! Tempted to buy an 8GB one and stick a 1.8" HDD in, but that'll end up costing more...

I don't think any blue linux exist in the UK, except maybe PC World. Either they are producing less of the blue, or the blue is just more popular.

The long wait for a blue, combined with seeing just how bad the fingerprint situation is, meant I cancelled my pre-order on Saturday and I've ordered a white one instead from Amazon, should be here in a couple of days.

Does anyone know of a reputable US online retailer that ships internationally and accepts the usual credit cards? The prices in the US are so much cheaper (US$349 for XP/120Gb model). In Australia it is much more expensive (A$633 ~US$550), even with our A$99 cashback, the US is still cheaper even if I add US$100 for shipping. And given the International Travellers' warranty, I should be OK, I hope...

    Hi,
Im at the moment in new zealand and would like to buy an aspire one a150L (with linux), the thing is, i can only find the 8gb version and the 120gb version with xp over here, it seems like the 150L still isnt released here. does anyone of you know if theres any shop which is selling them in new zealand or where i can buy them overseas and knows what it costs me to get it through the customs? do i have to pay the gst on it? i don't know because im german and in germany we have a very strange customs system and you never know how much you have to pay on stuff you get from abroad...
    thx
