Yeah, didn't initially realise the ZIF HDs were so cheap. I have ordered one now as this seems to be the price/performance sweet spot.

Linpus is cute, but hampered. I need easy bluetooth and win apps.

So how much improvement do you see from the default SSD?

in my case XP runs, loads and start up quicker. It doesnt give me that few sec "program does not respond" message before i run a large file/program. Large file copy and moving is faster.
and i have 100GB over 8gb with no battery life loss.

HDD has been is is still THE bottleneck in modern computers, everything became faster, except those magnetic drives...

Manufacturer keeps increasing the size per platter, thus only improving the transfert rate every so slighty, but the access time is still slow, actually even slower than before.

The analogy with car engine is even worst, combution engine IS thing of the past, with only 20% efficiency at most. That's 80% being burnt and wasted... not to mention pollution
Electrical motor is the way to go, much more efficient and outbeats even the highest performance car running on gas.

There's a lot to say about radical changes to move forward, such as QWERTY keyboards which was also invented in the late 18's, they keys are arranged in a innefficient way to mechanicaly prevent them from jaming each other when you type, but yet very few people have moved away from it due to it being widespread
