...and what was he doing with my computer? Could someone check this up?

The other day I was checking what I had done wrong when installing Firefox 3 on my (8SSD) Aspire One. I su'd and, to my surprise, I was able to 'cursor up' into other sessions history (turns out I had typed 'ls' when I should have typed 'ln', silly me). And then I kept 'cursoring up' and found some activity before I bought the computer!

Someone was looking for 'ericwang' in file names (and deleting them), editing some system files and constantly trying to delete an '062108' (or some combination of 08, 06 and 21) directory which, I assume, is because this happened on June 21st...

I guess Eric Wang is someone at Acer finishing up the software installation and then forgetting to delete the console history, but I haven't been able to Google him.

Silly, I know, but could someone check if the same thing happens with other computers of the same model?

    Thanks!

    César

    Dear Eric,
thanks for all your efforts on the acer Aspire One.
As you may be aware you have left quite a bit of debris on our machines, this is not a good idea, we obviously don't need the debris, certainly not on the 8gb units.
We would like to accept your apology for this appalling situation, and would offer the following as a way that you can serve penance for your unwarranted use of our disk space.
All we ask is that you join the Acer Aspire One User Forum and promise to visit on a regular basis and provide answers to our ever growing list of questions.
You will find that we are friendly , enthusiastic and very committed to the One.

    regards

    Acer aspire users worldwide.

    hahahaha... :D

c'mon guys let's not scare the bloke. i can imagine he was just trying to finish the most number of units so they can be shipped out immediately

i'm sure by now Acer has made a note of this and has added a new procedure to eliminate traces in the console.

    cheers

Eric Wang is now famous, scared, I doubt it.
I guess there will be a procedure, but others will be racing to make a mark on future One's.
