Why Restore Partition?

    My AAO has 8GB SSD and NO onboard restore capability. Yet the final step of factory reload from original media copies to "Restore Partition1". My thinking is that this is why the OS consumes nearly 6GB of the SSD. Am I doing something wrong on reload? Can I reclaim that space? I don't I load 2GB of bloatware. . . .
