I see nothing wrong with XP on the Aspire One - actually, from my memory (I've not run XP on them since 2010, sadly), they're quite competent little machines for lighter tasks with XP!

7's... alright, I guess. Pretty comparable, though for some things you'll notice a bit of a hit. Not a big fan of 7 period myself, though. Still, though, it's the Windows OS of choice nowadays, it seems... you could certainly get worse!

Since 2010 I've pretty much just been running Linux and OS X on mine, though. Most of the time Arch Linux, which works fine, although I've been toying with OS X 10.6.8 on the thing.

I did just replace the wireless card, though, so I'm hoping it still works on Arch without a hitch. Couldn't get the old one working under OS X, and I was suspecting it was a pretty poor card in the first place (it was really starting to become flaky)...

Have been dual booting the AAO150 since purchasing it in 2008. It came with WinXP and 512MG ram and a 120GB hdd. I installed a 1GB stick of RAM and resized(shrunk) the Windows partition to about one half the drive capacity. That left about 60GB of unallocated freespace. Installed Fedora Linux latest release at the time and currently running Fedora 17 on it alongside XP.

Only problems encountered have been the Acer Black Screen of Death but I keep a usb flash drive handy with bios flash that always straightened out the problem. I've probably used bios flash about three times in four years.

Have two AAO250's and have never had a bios problem and both of them currently run Fedora 17/XP. One of the first things to do when you get an AAO or any computer for that matter is to make recovery/install discs whether you plan on dual booting or not and verify that they work.

I have no problem using Linux or Windows but find that Linux is what I find myself using most of the time on the netbook. :)

I have a dual boot (not a real, real, but it work like so) with Windows XP and Jolicloud (JoliOS v1.2).
I love these two operating systems. But sometime Jolicloud is running slower...
