That isn't how things are determined. I know people that still use Windows 3.11 for Workgroups. It is still obsolete. Holdouts don't determine the lifespan of a product on their own. They can in some instances have an impact on it, but not as much as some would have you think.

No, definitely not. The biggest reason for this is that Microsoft has a very large amount of enterprise consumers which use Windows 7. Thus they will keep providing updates to Windows for as long as possible. Also, Windows 7 is generally accepted as a baseline OS for developers today. Most programs are created with Windows 7 in mind.

Another very important reason is that both Windows 8 and 10 have basically the same code base as Windows 7 internally. Which means that if Windows 7 is obsolete, so is Windows 8 and 10. The slight differences (such as DirectX support for newer versions) matters to very few consumers.

Windows 7 will at present be supported and upgraded until January 2020, so there's no compelling reason to get stressed over the working framework becoming out of date just yet, however the fact that no new licenses are being sold has some implications for current clients.

The most significant change is that PC makers won't have the ability to purchase any more Windows 7 licenses from Microsoft, so once their stock runs out, they'll just be able to supply new PCs with Windows 8.1 or 10 pre-installed. However this still will not make Windows 7 obsolete in any way.

    Just my thoughts!

I don't think it will. People like simplicity. Nobody wants to take the time to find out where they have hidden everything in the newer versions. Although the new format is appealing to the eyes, it is a pain in the you know what. Windows seven will be favored for a while.

Windows 7 is an amazing version. It is the best one since Windows XP. I honestly don't like change, and from what I have been reading from Windows 8 and 10, there have been TONS of changes. Don't get me wrong, they seem great and all, but I really hate learning new things. I'm too stubborn, and W7 is my comfort zone. I won't leave unless they are phasing it out already, which won't happen for another few years I bet.

Most likely. Maybe not in a few years but i think it will definitely go obsolete sadly. I personally love Windows 7 and i think there's still a large number of people who sticks to this OS.
