I am running very successfully Windows 2000 on my Acer Aspire One with SSD. It is much more compact than XP, and installs from a 16 gb Sd card without problems. Anybody else tried it?

I just finished installing Windows SBS Server 2003 the other day if you believe it and it works GREAT.

I needed a new server and I wasn't using my A150 much so I thought what could it hurt to try. My old server was a Dell Optiplex, 2ghz P4, 1gb ram, 160gb hard drive. Nothing special. Just host about 10 websites and 90 mailboxes. I thought to try the Aspire since the specs should be a little better than the worn out Dell and it is small, power efficient, has built in UPS, keyboard and mouse. The perfect package. It's been working great so far. Websites and webmail are responding much faster. CPU load appears to be about 1/2 what it was before also. Exchange sync is better also. I'm pleased.

I can see Atom based servers used for small businesses one day.

Nice idea - though 2k is a bit of a security risk...
How long does the battery last ?
And does wifi work - or do the Acer XP drivers also work under 2k ?
