Hello all, and firstly my apologies that my first post is a question! Have been reading a few of the fora on here since I got my AAO in April

I've just put 7 onto my AAO (160Gb Hard Drive). Split the drive using gparted, and installed from an external HDD. Everything went hunky dory, the machine loads up, runs smoothly, appears not to be laggy or underpowered. However, I can't use it for more than 10-15 minutes without a complete hang - keyboard/mouse/wireless switch have no effect whatsoever. Have to hold down the power button to reboot.

Anybody else experienced anything similar? I have searched the threads on here but couldn't find anything that sounded akin to this!

Build is 7100, if it helps.

    Thanks!

    Dan

I had the same problem. I think that for me the problem was the READYBOOST on SD Storage Expansion. I disabled readyboost and now is ok. Do you use READYBOOST ?

You know I had the same inkling myself, though hadn't got around to checking the feasibility of this, and didn't want to lead the question in the wrong direction. Currently haven't had a freeze in 15 minutes, without ReadyBoost!

i had the same issue and it was bugging...but im not sure if it's just readyboost, when i put an sd card into the left slot and try to open it, it loads really slowly an then freezes...but ill try and see if it could be the card having only 200mb of free space

I've done some more comprehensive running trials. It's definitely ReadyBoost - AAO runs fine in Win 7 (one BSOD in 8 hours, probably unrelated), uses an SD with no ReadyBoost fine. Once I try to use ReadyBoost, its a matter of minutes to hang.

Is it a driver issue? Is it to do with the AAO only handling a certain amount of memory? It's something I'd quite like to resolve, as ReadyBoost was one of the primary reasons for me switching to the Dual Boot. Sadly, although I'm computer "literate", I lack the expertise to know where to go with this. I know when it has frozen, the full memory hadn't been allocated, as I let it freeze on the desktop with the memory widget... this is as technical as I have got so far!
