Well I've decided to give windows 7 another go but im still concerned about the whole wireless issues thing. I want to install the vanilla disc but since I only have 8gb IT WON'T! Is there ANY way of doing this minus vLite? I have an 8GB SDHC card but I doubt that will help at all. Thanks and peace.

I am writing this post from my A1 8GB (upgraded to 1.5GB RAM) model with Windows 7 (Build 7000) right now. It only has about 3gigs free, but it runs bueatifully. I have done the RAMDISK hack for the TMP and TEMP directories, and used 2GB of my *GB SD card for Rediboost, but I could not be happier overall. It is fast, responsive and generally fabulous. Wifi works out of the box BTW.... And of course, disable hibernation and page file.....

Mine wasn't installing on the 8GB SSD either. I upgraded the bios to v3309, and now it lets me install.

    Try that?

Do we still have to install it on Fat32? Since NTFS is really slow on the SSD.

I'm really interested to hear how you installed Windows 7 on the SSD version. I put the 64-bit version on my fullsize laptop and I love it, but it takes up about 10GB. How did you manage to fit it on the 8GB SSD?

I got it to install, but it isn't as quick as I expected. The hard drive activity light is on at nearly all times. And I only have 1.5GB free. Is there anything I can do to free space or improve performance?

if you do all the tweaks from the other thread you opend, you might have 3,5gb free space on you ssd, and the led lights at the beginning, i do not know why. also space is gone. but after a short time it was over, and windows 7 runs veeeery well ;-)
