    Hey guys,

have some difficulties setting up my microphone on my 751h.

Every single time i was installing the Realtech Drivers my mic haven't been recognized - best to say, it was recognized, but wasn't usable at all. Just silent in any single application :(

After deinstallation (using the original Windows drivers for generic HD Audio Card) it's working like a charm, but without any possibility to use boost, auto gain control and so on...

    Anybody had the same experience?

Use Windows 7, not XP. It works out of the box in Windows 7.
Also, Win 7 is better than XP in almost every way cept the amount of hard drive space it takes (around 10 gigs compared to 2 gigs with XP)

Oh sorry. I must have read through the post too quickly. Windows 7 professional is what I am using also and it detected my stuff out of the box for me.
It is rather painless to take a look inside the screen to see if the wire is connected correctly. Just remove the little rubber circles on the screen and take out the screws. The bezel will then come easily off. Start from the top then work on the sides then finally the bottom. Then you can remove the 2 screws at the bottom by the hinge and the screen will come right out. You may be able to tell without taking the screen all the way out.
You may also check in the control panels to see if its muted or the microphone volume (level) is turned too low. Sometimes that is the case.

It's the Realtek 2.45 from the off. site.

Yes you had - at least twice to be honest: As I told in the first post, there are no troubles to get the intern mic working with the generic drivers, but there are no special options implemented into them (like dolby headphones, bass boost, microphone boost, auto gain control etc.).

With the Realtek drivers there are this options - but the intern mic is not working (it's just recognized).

I used the drivers off the Acer Support website. I used the Vista 32 bit drivers.
Uninstalled the previous drivers, rebooted, then ran the driver set up program in vista sp2 compatibility mode. Runs like a charm. Way more stable too. Haven't had a crash or a freeze since.
