I'm trying to install Windows 7 build 7100 onto my D250. I have the official ISO from Microsoft, which I vlited and installed succesfully on my AOA150 without a problem. However, on my D250 the installer gives the message "A required cd/dvd drive device driver was not found," and won't let me continue. I tried directing it to chipset and sata drivers I downloaded off Acer's support site, but nothing worked. I also adjusted my vlite config, making sure not to remove ANY drivers or hardware support. If I use the unmodified ISO file, the install works fine. Here's a copy of my vlite config: [code]; vLite preset file ; ;#Environment: ; vLite v1.2 ; Framework 2.0.50727.4918 ; Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7100.0 32-bit ; ;#Target: ; Windows 7 ULTIMATE 32-bit ; Version 6.1 English (United States) ; [Compatibility] Aero Glass File and printer sharing (Server) Recommended Scanners and Cameras Windows Update [CustomHide] [Components] ;# Accessories # Accessibility Character Map Games-Inbox Games Games-Premium Inbox Games Mobility Center Speech Support System Information Welcome Center ;# Languages # Arabic Brazillian Bulgarian Croatian Czech Danish Dutch Estonian Finnish French German Greek Hebrew Hungarian Italian Japanese Korean Latvian Lithuanian Norwegian Polish Portuguese Romanian Russian Serbian Simplified Chinese Slovak Slovenian Spanish Swedish Table Driven Text Input Processor Thai Traditional Chinese Turkish Ukrainian ;# Multimedia # Intel Indeo Media Center Media Metadata Handler Music and Video samples Photo Metadata Handler Sample Pictures ;# Network # Connect to a Network Projector Internet Explorer Internet Information Services (IIS) Remote Desktop and Assistance Remote Desktop Client Simple TCPIP services TFTP Client Windows Collaboration Windows Mail ;# Services # Distributed Link Tracking Client Interactive Services Detection IP Helper Network Access Protection Agent Offline Files Remote Registry Secondary Logon WebDAV (WebClient) Windows Remote Management Windows Search ;# System # BitLocker Drive Encryption Help IMAPIv2 Burning Support Jet Database Engine Manual Install (Setup.exe) MDAC Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) Natural Language Parental Controls Performance Counters Reliability and Performance Monitor Software Quality Management (SQM) Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA) System Restore Tablet PC Windows Defender Windows Easy Transfer [Options] DEP (Data Execution Prevention) = Default User Account Control (UAC) = Disabled AntiSpyware Realtime Protection = Default Memory requirement = Default AutoPlay = Enabled Paging Executive = Enabled Power scheme = Power saving Power button = Shutdown Sleep button = Sleep Control Panel - Classic View = Default Show hidden files and folders = No Show protected operating system files = No Show extensions for known file types = No IE Phishing Filter = Disabled IE Phishing Verification Ballon Tips = Disabled [Services] ALG = Disabled AXINSTSV = Disabled BDESVC = Disabled BTHSERV = Disabled DPS = Disabled EFS = Disabled FDPHOST = Disabled FDRESPUB = Disabled HIDSERV = Disabled HKMSVC = Disabled HOMEGROUPLISTENER = Disabled HOMEGROUPPROVIDER = Disabled IDSVC = Disabled IPBUSENUM = Disabled IPHLPSVC = Disabled LLTDSVC = Disabled NETLOGON = Disabled PCASVC = Disabled PEERDISTSVC = Disabled SENSRSVC = Disabled SNMPTRAP = Disabled TRKWKS = Disabled UI0DETECT = Disabled VAULTSVC = Disabled WBIOSRVC = Disabled WCNCSVC = Disabled WCSPLUGINSERVICE = Disabled WDISERVICEHOST = Disabled WDISYSTEMHOST = Disabled WERCPLSUPPORT = Disabled WERSVC = Disabled WINHTTPAUTOPROXYSVC = Disabled WMPNETWORKSVC = Disabled WPDBUSENUM = Disabled [Protection] windows\system32\Magnification.dll windows\system32\msdrm.dll [Drivers] C:\Users\Tristan\Desktop\Chipset_Intel_8.3.0.1018_XPx86XPx64_A\Chipset_Intel_v.8.3.0.1018_XPx86x64\Vista\5000XZVP.inf C:\Users\Tristan\Desktop\Chipset_Intel_8.3.0.1018_XPx86XPx64_A\Chipset_Intel_v.8.3.0.1018_XPx86x64\All\5000XZVP.inf C:\Users\Tristan\Desktop\IMSM_Intel_v8.0.0.1039_XP\f6flpy32\iaAHCI.inf C:\Users\Tristan\Desktop\IMSM_Intel_v8.0.0.1039_XP\f6flpy64\iaAHCI.inf [Unattended] SpecRegional SkipProductKey SkipAutoActivation NetworkLoc = 1 ProtectPC = 3 [Hotfixes] [LanguagePacks] [/code] I've also heard about changing the SATA mode from AHCI to IDE in the BIOS settings. What is the difference, and are there consequences of changing the setting? Thanks.
