hey i just reloaded windows xp on my AAO. I went to load the chip set driver and went to restart, once the windows logo came up it disappeared and went into the option for safe mode. I try to get it to go back into windows normally and it won't go. Any ideas? Thanks

Check your hard drive controller setting in the BIOS. Is it set to AHCI or IDE? Try both and see what you get. For me the most common cause of WinXP BSODing at startup is an incompatible HDD Controller being installed. It's essentially a driver issue.

I haven't toyed with XP much in a while, especially on my AAO. Sounds like you've got it running in IDE mode which I'm pretty sure is the manufacturer default. As far as I'm aware, you need to integrate the drivers into the XP install disk and re-install to get proper AHCI support. Search the forums for "Windows XP AHCI" and you should find some more information.

Also on the D250, theres an option in the BIOS settings that allows you to switch from AHCI to IDE. I assume other AAO models with AHCI have this option as well.
