My question is *not* been answered here. I want to install Office 2003 that I have on disk. Can I transter the contents of the CD onto a regulat 1gb flash drive and install from that?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Why do I have to do something extra like that? Won't the operating system see it as a removable drive and let me install it to the hard drive on the Aspire One?

Sorry for the double post, just installed Firefox 3 and I hate it! Why can't they leave well enough alone!

Thanks for the clarification! I hope I've made the right choice on the Aspire One. At first I was thinking it was just made for Kids, but after playing with it at Walmart, I was really impressed. I don't need a Cd/DVD drive as I have that on my Desktop, and I absolutely hate Vista on my wife's Laptop. Funny, technology finally got something right for a change. Also with the advent of cheap flashdrives, i think the death knell has been sounded for CDs and DVDs!

A comparison between my full-blown desktop PC (Shuttle SB52G) and my AA1:
1.8 GHz P4, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, DVD burner, 1680x1050 20" screen for my desktop, add-in wireless card
    1.6 GHz Atom, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, 2 SD slots, 1024x600 8.9" screen for my AA1, built-in wireless card
