    Hi all,

I have OS X on my Aspire One, using the entire disk, but I need windows for some special things, so I tried to install XP into an external USB HD, but the installer ignores the disk.

Is there any way to bypass this installer´s limitation or use Ron´s Tiny XP on an external drive?

    Thank you all!

you need to mod the wnodws xp installation files in order to let windows xp install on usb drives. It's not possible to install ron's tiny xp on the usb drive without further modding.

The are other alternatives to installing windows xp on usb drives if you're not tech savy enough to mod the installation files.
    -use virtual machine
    -windowsPE

somebody is selling the detail instruction to make the bootable WinXP USB drive at ebay for $1.99. You can get the instruction within 5 minutes upon paypal payment. The instruction will be emailed to your paypal email address instantly. I bought one and it worked great when I followed the instruction. Now I am using WinXP in my Aser Aspire one!
Here is the link that you can find the instruction ebay list:

now you owe me $0.99

    jk

I just skimmd through the ebay sell.. it's not the same thing as what I've described. The ebay item is simply installing windows xp with the flashdrive. The link i've provided is a "detailed instruction" of how to install windows xp to a flashdrive. Big difference there.
