right im hoping to get the acer aspire one 120gb hdd windows xp version 1gb ram. my question is does this function as well as xp on a desktop, what with it only having 1gb of ram and a 1.6ghz processor, what is the speed like when opening graphics intensive web pages and videos. also is it fairly easy to install linpus and ubuntu as secondary and tertiary operating systems in a virtual system?

it runs fine, no real issues with web pages of any sort.

It's not the best screen to use VM's in given the smallish resolution unless you are going to run in full screen mode all the time. I haven't been able to install the Acer version of Linplus into vmware and have it working, it just hangs. Haven't tried other distro's (last one I did was a redhat) very much but in general, linux does work in VM since most of the hardware is "fake", so to speak.
