wired and wireless problem

    recently i bought the famous AAone and i found it working with xp os so i decided to install ubuntu on it am not an IT geek so i gave it to a friend to install ubuntu on it and everything is working good except the internet connection when i plug the ethernet cable nothing happen and the switch of wifi doesnt work and there is nothing am really confused because i need internet for my researches please help me :oops:

    I recently bought an aspireone ZG5. Four days ago the internet icon on the task bar disappearred, the internet settiings no longer open. I really would appreciate any kind of help.
