Is the atheros wireless adapter in the aspire one prone to pooping out because I just had mine quit. No Linux or Windows detected any wireless adapter.. I turned the netbook off completely for 30 min and it worked again. Does this happen and can I get it fixed if it quits?. Thanks

You don't mention your model number. However, I understand all Aspire One''s have mini PCI wireless cards, so yes, if the hardware fails, the card can be changed. Here is an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atheros-Ace...op-Wireless-Mini-PCI-e-Card-NEW-/300708419702
However, if your failure is intermittent, it might just be loose in the socket. Depending on the model, there will be some disassembly required. You should "Google" your model for disassembly instructions.

Just had the same problem with both my Acer Aspire and Acer Aspire One (A150). Modem works for 30-60 mins - fails. Restarting fixes problem temporarily.
Changing the modem card worked in both cases. less than a tenner each from eBay.

It happened on my Aspire also. After mesing around awhile unsuccessfully trying to fix it, I just got a cheap USB plug-in wireless adapter and it worked fine.

Yeh you could go for all the above answers but have you tried to update you drivers?? I am not promoting any software here but I use IObit driver scanner for the best results
most drivers now days are just ancient.
