I have managed to install the HP drivers on Linpus with no problems to talk over a network to a HP Photosmart C7280 multifunction device. I have printed wirelessly via a router with no issues. I have not tried a direct connection...

    What is your network setup?

    I have the same problem.

My Linpus AA1 is on a wireless network. Also connected to the network is an XP desktop (via LAN cable to the D-Link router), two Vista laptops via WiFi and a wireles HP printer that I'm trying to connect to. It's an HP 4585 photosmart.

I don't understand what settings are required in the AA1's New Printer screen and don't know if I need a specific HP driver?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks
    David

    David,

Choose > System > Administration > Printing. click New Printer, select the printer in the list , and then click "Forward"
to select the correct driver and install the printer...

Hope it works for you, did for me. Good Luck!

    David,

    Sorry, simpler, easier:

Go to Linux GUI, click "Settings" and then "Printer" and then proceed as above...
