I am using ubuntu 9.04 from a flash drive but I can't get into my wireless network for the internet.
I have one desktop that connects to the router, one desktop that connects by wireless adapter, one notebook with builtin wireles, one AAonen with ubuntu on the flash. The other three are windows machines. They connect up fine to the internet. I should mention that I have a Linksys Router and a lynksys adapter. I don't know whats on the notebook or the AAone. I captured some info from the AAone and the windows with Linksys Adapter.

This is what "Network Tools" reports on the AAone:
    Network device: lo
    Hardware address: Loopback
    Multicast: Disabled
    MTU: 16436
    Link speed: not available
    State: Active
    Transmitted packets: 88
    Transmission errors: 0
    Received packets: 88
    Reception errors: 0
    Collisions: 0
    I can't find "Network Manager

This what ipconfig on windows desktop reports:
    Windows IP Configuration

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 6:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : mc.at.cox.net
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
my address type is assigned by DHCP

Thanks, any help will be gratefully appreciated!

Is the network manager applet showing in the panel? If not, open a terminal window and type
    Code:
    nm-applet
to bring it up. If it's showing a red "X", then right-click on it and make sure wireless networking is enabled. Then left-click on it and select the network to which you want to connect.
