    Hi everyone.
I just purchased my Aspire One and I have to say it is very good, however
there is one thing that kept me thinking...

How well is the aspire One wireless connectivity compared to other laptops?

Well, this question comes because of the following.
In the college, I was trying to connect to the Internet but I could not see any networks,
I thought that the College's wireless network was down, suddenly, I got a MobileMe Mail
pushed to my iPhone, so this was that the wireless was there...

So, again, I tried to connect to a wireless network, but no luck.
So I went to the server room where the Access Point is located, again, scanned and this time
got signal, 2 bars, how can that be possible, as I´m just a meter away from the AP, no walls
nothing. I would like to know if this is normal, because I can still go to the store and ask for
    a replacement.

So, how is your One compared to other laptops refering to wireless?

    Thanks.

Just for the note: HDD version using Preinstalled Windows XP and driver downloaded from Acer.com
Another note: I went to the card properties and set power save to off and normal, but nothing changes.

But compared to other notebooks? should it have less range since it is smaller, even my iPhone 3G got better Wi-Fi signal.

    Yes, it was dodgy.

But I decided to open it up, removed some screws, and...
The Main Antenna cable was a bit disconnected, however, it would not fit entirely.
So, I decided to swith the Main cable for the Aux cable and...

Yup... It works now. It is working flawlessly, and it will be like that!

I have 3 laptops a dell c610, an acer aspire 9300-5005 and an AA1. The best is the AA1 for getting connected and staying connected either at home or at an internet cafe type spot.

Compared to my desktop's wireless the A1 is better. I also had it side by side to a few other laptops and it got a better signal. All in all it seems pretty good so far.

I'm also not satisfied with the AA1 wireless sensitivity. My router four feet away is less than full strength. I rarely see the neighbors router. I have a Toshiba P25-S507 with the Atheros 5001X wireless. It sees my router full strength and four neighbors at much reduced strength but visible and some are connectible. The AA1 definitely has a weaker receiver. Both laptops have the antennas mounted in the display framework and sit in the same spot. I'm going to post a question about a super G wireless modem in awhile in this forum. It supposedly has a 200m range indoors and 830m outdoors.
