Hello, I just bought my apsire one(figured I now NEEDED an account here) and I bought a wireless N card with intel mini pcie 4965 and I know it uses 3 internal antennas instead of the 2 in the aspire one, I was just wondering if these would work:

If their is something better I should get(or more appropriate, maybe made for my laptop since these seem a little long) please share!
Thankyou, and I hope I am welcome to the community ;)

They work fine - for best reception you should mount it under the LCD which involves alot of dismantling !!!!

I have TWO Aspire Ones that I just put 4965AGN's into and with two wires I'm seeing 54/60Mb/s bitrate.. if I add the third antenna will I get a better rate? -- Also, can I use any antenna? Meaning, if I buy a pair from ebay, can I use one in each netbook?

If that's the best you are doing, and you are close to the router, then no, probably not. You first need to mess with the settings on the computer or the router and make sure you are in N mode.

It may help when you get farther away though :D

As documented (and as tested here) the Intel 4965AGN will work in N mode with only 2 antenna's. Apparently, there is a third that is built in, and is used when an aux 3rd antenna is not hooked up.

I have only two antennas, and have a144mbs connection right now.

In Windows 7 Beta I get 78 Mbps so it's in N mode but just seems to be a crappy connection. Might be the router. It's a dlink DIR-615

I always get 54Mbps with the stock card, so I would hope if you were to upgrade it would be higher then that. For the intel wireless N card, can you really take advantage of it if you only have the two wires connected or isn't there that big of a difference?

Well I guess I don't know... I've heard people with only two antenna's are getting 130's... in Windows I did get over 100 for a short time but then it dropped to 60..
