wmv files

    I cannot run BBC progs as they are wmv files is there a fix?

    All modern media players (mplayer, vlc, xine, etc) using a sufficiently recent copy of ffmpeg can play them. However, if you are referring to BBC's own programming, they actually use its own codec- dirac:

    For this type of files you can play them in any player that is compiled with dirac support, as long as they do not contain drm. For drm streams, you will need to wait for BBC's iplayer for Linux.
