I got my screen from toptouchscreen, and I had a few questions:
    1. Drivers - instructions say to install them first before you do anything, but during the installation it says to make sure the screen is plugged it. What is the proper order for this?
    2. About how long does it take to do the full disassemble/installation?
    3. Is there a guide for the solderless screens that is as detailed as the one in the guides forum (that's for soldered screens)?
    4. Any general tips before installation? I will probably be installing tomorrow afternoon, so I have time to do anything extra.

    Congratulations!

    Nice upgrade for your AAO.

    Answering your questions:
    1) Drivers: Most of drivers can be found in http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/drivers.htm
If you are using UNR (x-server 1.6), you will need a new beta driver is not in this page. ( I Attached it).

If using UNR, it cames with Embeded evtouch driver, that perfectly recognices your egalax touchscreen but it was imposible for me to calibrate it, so I removed evtouch driver and installed the beta egalax driver and I could calibrate it perfectly..

Now a days I'm not happy with my TS. Most of the times TS stops working and I'm not sure it's because of the driver or it's because I have a problem with the controller board (it is extremely hot). Same problem read in this post:
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/368135

This weekend I'll try to install windows. If the TS is still in this behavior I'll be sure it is because of the controller board.

    2) It took me almost 4 hours. It's not difficult, but I had a lot of problems with wires legth (are not long enough to fit in AAO. I'm almost sure I recived an EEEPC Kit instead of AAO one). Finally I decided to un-wrap the camera wires from its fabric tape and make the connection in ye main case (not in the screen case as shown in the instructions)

    3) with the TS i received a link to an internet video with installation instructions.

    4) Keep all the screws in order. There are a lot of screws to remove!!!

I've installed a few of these..the Hoda ones are made specifically for the AOA150..and, like he said, a lot of the others are generic, but mainly for the eee..and you either have to be tricky with the webcam wires at the hub or place it under the mobo. And you have to be VERY careful where you place it if not in the empty chamber that it SHOULD go in. Like he said, there are a BUNCH of screws. I like to use large pieces of tape (like masking or packing) with ends folded over for a tab, and mark them as "bottom" .."front"..."kybd" etc and place the screws on the sticky part. The hardest thing is the wire management. Make sure it isnt too tight around the hinges or are around a place in the hinges by the metal that would wear the coating off the wires. They are tiny and hard to really solder good back together! (I speak from experience!)
Let us know how it goes! Just go slow, and dont tighten the screws around the bezel on the screen ...just enough to where you feel resistance. Oh..and no need to install the software package beforehand....Ive always done it after.

Ok, apparently something went horribly, horribly wrong here. I got everything installed (the touchscreen is working perfectly), but for some reason my monitor is only displaying on a small portion of the display (the upper left corner), and right underneath the display is a clone of the top! This happens in everything--the BIOS, Windows startup, and in Windows. According to Windows, my display is "Digital Flat Panel 1024x768 60Hz." What on earth is happening here? How do fix this display problem?

Here's an image from my BlackBerry:

EDIT: This is my exact problem!
I've heard it is some kind of hardware issue, but I have no idea what to do now.

Ooops!!! What a nice MOD! (sorry).

I don't imagine any relation between Touch Screen and the flat panel.
It must be some thing you "moved" when you had your computer apart.

did you check the panel conector it's properly pluged?.

did your windows find a new hardware the first time you rebooted?.
did you try to remove your monitor from the control panel and re-detect it? (no sense. It also happens in your bios screen. Nothing to do with windows.).

Really, No idea. These are only obvious tests (it must be something with the phisical conector).

    Just unplug and reinsert it?

EDIT: And yes, I did receive several "new hardware" notifications when I restarted my computer.

Unplugging and reinserting it didn't work. :(

I've got my AAO sitting here open in front of me if anyone has any suggestions.

EDIT: Fixed it! I had to use some needle nose pliers to clamp it tight. Everything is perfect now. :D

    Good news!!

    - Let me know if you have same problems I do.
    1) Interferences with web-cam (when I touch the screen and the web cam is operating, I can see noise in the captured image).
    2) Excesive heat in the controller board. After a while (20-30 min) using the screen touch it stops working and I have to wait until is cold again).

I have to make up my mind to install windows and check if It has the same behavior on it. I've read some posts mentioning troubles with linux drivers and the touchscreen.

Interferences seems to be a phisical problem with wires (like yours) but I have checked all of them and didn't saw anything interesting.

Hope to be as lucky as you've been.

No, I just used pliers to make sure the connector was all the way inserted.
