Would 8GB SSD/512MB be enough for Ubuntu Netbook Remix?

I posted earlier about Netbook specific distros. I liked Mandriva Mini but I know I can't purchase that directly so decided on Ubuntu Netbook Remix.
I want to put it on a Acer Aspire One 1295 which I know comes with 512MB of memory and 8GB SSD.
Can the memory and SSD be expanded?
Either way, would this system be enough to install Ubuntu Netbook Remix? I won't be installing a lot of extra software or saving a lot of data. I will just store a few mp3's to play on it, some photos, and do mostly Firefox browsing, use OpenOffice for some basic document work, and maybe a few other minor things.

Sure, these are exactly what it's made for.

I would strongly recommend the Atom-optimized version mentioned in this thread to installing a full Ubuntu and then adding the NR pacakges though.
