I just got my new Aspire One Model AOA 150 - 1997
However.. It seems to be the international or Canada keyboard. The left shift key is stupid, and I can't even seem to hit the enter key right.
I am in the US, and I ordered it from a US firm, but it seems like this isn't right.
I have the Blue, 160, 6 cell... But screen shots on flickr and such show a more "normal" layout on the keyboard. Also, when I first booted it, it asked me if I wanted French or if I wanted English.

Go to the control panel (Windows XP classic view) then go to "Regional and Language Options". Check to make sure everything is set for "United States". If not set it for it and apply. Then get out of the control panel and do a restart to ensure the settings have been applied. Also check while you are in the control panel what your keyboard settings are. You may have to adjust them also. I hope this helps. If you are using Linpus, then someone else will have to offer a suggestion.

I know my MS Windows is fine. I have it setup for english etc. That's not the issue. The issue is that the physical keyboard, has more keys on it, and the left shift key is TINY and the enter key is an inverted L.
When I first powered it up out of the box, the first thing it asked me was "French or English". I picked English, and the system recover tool totally reformatted and loaded the English version of windows on it.

I went back to the website where I bought it (Tiger) and looked at the pictures. They have 2 entries for the blue, 160 etc. One comes with a mouse, and one without. They are the exact same price, but different model numbers. I figured why not get the mouse. Well, if you use the ZOOM picture to see the units, the ones with the mouse have the International Style keyboard, and the kits without the mouse show the normal US keyboard. When I made the purchase, I actually asked why they model numbers were not the same, and the answer I got was "Because of the mouse". I think, that Tiger may not realize they got a big batch of Netbooks for Canada on their US site now.

The keyboard is a deal breaker for me. I can not STAND this keyboard, and even after using it all day, I still had to remap the left key as a shift key, just to be able to do the correct case, and I am still mashing the \ key all the time because it's where the Enter key should be. I feel sorry for my Canada neighbors that have to live with this keyboard. This thing is getting returned Monday without a doubt.

haha, I use the Canadian French keyboard, I'm used to it. just keep practicing, and you'll get used to it :D
Extend your pinky everyday and I'll guarantee you that you'll hit the right keys now and then.

I had the same issue with my one. It came preinstalled with XP and when I would hit shift-4 ($) ith would give me the UK pound symbol. I went into regional setting and lo and behold, the keyboard setting was English (UK). I added English (United States) and deleted the UK one and presto! Fixed.
