XP Home To XP Pro

    Can you update the installed XP Home on the Acer Aspire One to XP Pro.
    I have a program that needs XP Pro to run.

    As far as I know there is no such thing as a program that requires pro since they're virtually the same minus some networking features and remote desktop :/

    Install microsoft live mesh. It uses terminal protocol, a.k.a. remote desktop and it doesn't have the windows XP Pro requirement.

    go to teamviewer.com and download their client, its free to use if it is for personal use. it is meant for remote desktop support, i use it to fix my relatives computers all the time. once installed, run the program, on the left there is a ID and password and on the right a box to enter an id number, its all self explanatory and super easy to use

    I appreciate everyone's recommendations on remote support programs.
    I currently use logmeinrescue.com.
    But - with XP Pro's Remote Desktop, I can log onto a server with no intervention by the client.

    So the question remains - can I update XPHome on the Acer to XPPro ?

    I use Teamviewer as well for the same reason. Makes it super easy when friends or family need computer help.

    Live mesh is XP's Remote Desktop, but with simpler UI. It uses the same protocol and does not need any user intervension by the client.

    answer to your question. Yes. I have more than 150 aspire ones running on win xp pro with no mods.
