Windows recently removed the hardware virtualization requirement. I've got some software that requires xp to function properly and would like to go to xp mode. Has anyone successfully installed and run xp mode?
Trying to use the Microsoft link I get held up on the genuine advantage requirement.
Trying to install the patch that gets around the virtualization requirement and I'm told that the patch doesn't apply to my machine.
Currently downloading the 469MB XP mode from the following link and gonna give it a shot, but wondering if anyone else has gone down this path yet.

edit: after installing virtual 2007, the install worked smooth.
