I have XP Pro on my AAO, and have installed Ubuntu as a dual-boot system. All works really well, except that when I boot into Ubuntu it doesn't recognise the Wi-fi card. The Wi-fi light doesn't flicker, and the switch doesn't work.

It still works fine in Windows, so its obviously a software issue, but I can't find out where in Ubuntu to enable the card. Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help.

I recommend EEEbuntu which has been adapted to the netbooks. I have it on my AAO and wifi works fine. There are only few tweaks to make in order to have the card slots work a little better.

I got the wireless card to work in Ubuntu using the NDISWRAPPER around the XP drivers. The post is on here:

    viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4736&p=42437&hilit=ndiswrapper+xp+drivers#p42437

Once I did these steps, wireless worked reliably. If only I could get the onboard mic to work. :)
