I am aware that the time taken for XP to resume from hibernate is related to the amount of RAM fitted. My HP laptop with 2GB takes 32s from resume bar display to desktop :( . My Aspire One with 512MB takes 10s :D . Both systems are running XP Pro, although the HP is considerable more mature than the Aspire One (A150) which has practically no software installed yet.

So, I would like to know the resume times folks are getting with 1GB and 1.5GB of RAM on their Aspire Ones. This will inform my decision as to how much RAM to add (if any). I'm sure most people assume more RAM good; less RAM bad; and may find this helpful.

    Much obliged

    Tony

Resume on my 1GB AAO in XP is short, but the mouse drivers load last so it don't really matter.

I have a question in the topic.
I have a new XP Installed myself [xp sp3, etc], then on another partition in dual boot Windows 7.
When I put the xp to hibernate, it shows the bar progressing and shut down. And when i power up the system, in the Acer screen there are not buttons displayed [The F2 and F12, etc], so is normal until then, but when it comes to the OS select screen, it goes to XP but it start normally, like it was never hibernate...
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

It is likely a setting somewhere in the boot sectors that Windows 7 set up. I'm honestly not sure how to fix it, but I know I used a program called VistaBootPro to help fix a similar issue with a XP/Vista dual boot that was done in a rather funky manner.

If I could have my topic back now, please! ;)

Start the stopwatch when the Resume bar appears then stop it when you see the Desktop. Then tell me how many second resume took, how much RAM you have and if you've got a 110 or 150.

    Thank you
