I've spent today getting my new AA1 (linux) up and running (connect to Wifi, mount NAS, install GIMP, VLC etc.).

Everything was going well, until my wifi connection dropped, so in the end I decided to reboot. Following the reboot, wifi still isn't working but more importantly when I launch xterm using Alt-F2 nothing happens. I tried running terminal but while the application seems to launch, it never returns a prompt.

Any ideas what I can try next?

I had the same problem whenever I made any VT's available (by uncommenting any of the getty lines in /etc/inittab). I think it has something to do with Linpus using $PROMPT_COMMAND rather than $PS1 to generate the command prompt string.
I'm no longer running Linpus because of this and other problems with customizing it.
