    Dear all,

I have just installed Xubuntu 8.10 and found that when i plug in an earphone or external speaker, the laptop build in speaker does not get mute. Anyway has any idea to fix this? I have google and found this solution.. But the solution does seems to work for my AOA110.

    Code:
    # sudo mousepad /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

    add
    Code:
    options snd-hda-intel model=auto

    or
    Code:
    options snd-hda-intel model=acer

    Thanks in advance

I had this today, but only after I woke it up from suspend. Was a bit embarrassing as I was sitting outside checking emails, then kept my headphones in while I walked into the lab, the music changed from Mozart's Requiem in D Minor to Come To Daddy by Aphex Twin. Wondered why I was getting funny looks walking down the corridor.

Anyway, I have updated to the latest ALSA and it seems to offer much better options for sound than the default install and I now know to be more careful when using the thing as an mp3 player.

With alsa 1.0.18, I've found that model=basic solves these issues.
