Have had my ZG5 8.9" screen aspire one for a year now. Trying to revive it a little bit as I just recently wiped it.

It is the 160gb XP version.
    AOA 150-1636
    Model# ZG5

    I want to:

    1) replace 160gb HD with a 64gb or 120gb SSD (will any 2.5 sata SSD work?)

    2) upgrade ram to maximum possible (recommend me memory please)

    3) speedboost? something with using the SDHC cards? I heard about this from another thread, can someone please inform me?

    4) install win7 ultimate (can i run x64, or is x32 recommended?)

    5) any other upgrades I should do to keep this computer in top shape? I plan on keeping it around for a while since it's small enough to carry around everywhere!

I would really want to keep this computer running quick for school work.

    thanks in advance.

Won't know since I have the 8GB SSD version, but if you do a search in the forum, your question is probably already answered.

The single soDIMM slot support 1gb DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM.

    I don't know I use Linux Ubuntu 10.10, it's pretty good and free. ;-)

    x32 since the N270 processor doesn't support x64.

Upgade the wireless card to an Intel 4965 AGN with a third antena. (It improves a lot the Wifi)

The ZG5 is indeed a good and small machine, I'm debating my self if I'm upgrading the slow SSD to a faster one to try to keep it alive until dual core with ion chip set become affordable.
