Hello. I plan to buy a new laptop and want to protect its display. Would it be possible to apply tempered glass screen protector on a matt bigger screens such as 17.3" or 18"?

Glossy screen protectors not only would prevent scratches but also increase contrast and vibrancy of colors but at the cost of reflections unless there are screen protectors with antireflective coatings which are superior to matt surfaces. I now use a Lenovo y700 which has a glossy display and had no issues with reflections but I had small scratches which appear as black dots on white background.

Yes, you can apply a tempered glass screen protector to a matte 17.3" or 18" laptop display, but finding one in that size may be challenging. Most large-screen protectors are plastic films rather than tempered glass. A glossy tempered glass protector will enhance contrast and color vibrancy but may introduce reflections. If glare is a concern, look for an anti-reflective or matte-finish tempered glass protector. Just ensure the protector is precisely cut for your screen size to avoid fit issues.

Yes, you can find tempered glass protectors for 17.3" laptops, but options for 18" and matte displays are very limited. Most larger protectors are glossy, so reflections may be an issue unless you find one with an anti-glare coating. If scratch protection is the main concern, a high-quality matte film protector might be the safer choice.
